Boys Match of the Week:
#10 Columbia Central 14, #4 Tullahoma 13
Tullahoma looked to go into Columbia and pick up a rare win at their house, and they started strong in game 1 with a 247 from Dylan Petty and a 227 from Oliver Lawson. Jalen Hoeldtke took a tough win 235-222 over David Farmer for a crucial early point for Columbia, but Tullahoma was up 10 pins and 5-3. In game 2, Tullahoma poured it on with a 264 from Elijah Manderson, and a big 225-214 win from Hunter McCray over Luke Flatt. Columbia was again able to pull out a big point with Cole Flatt topping Petty 277-222. But Columbia had their work cut out for them, down 11-5 and 45 pins. In game 3, Petty outbowled C. Flatt 277-245, and Farmer bested Hoeldtke 228-210. But Columbia took advantage with 3 tight game wins, and another behind L. Flatt's 296, putting up the best game of the day, 1332, taking total pins 3826-3707, and getting enough to edge out Tullahoma in team score 14-13
Girls Match of the Week:
#15 East Hamilton 14, #14 Walker Valley 13
Two closely ranked District 5 teams met with East Hamilton looking to get back at Walker Valley for an earlier loss. Walker Valley looked to repeat that win in game won behind Natily Haro's 192 and Skylar Earles 176 to take a 6-2 lead. In game 2, Haro continued her consistent showing with a 181, but it was East Hamilton getting good scores from everyone, led by Sabrina Blair's 179 and Kensley Mansfield's 165 to tie the points at 8-8. But the big difference was the team score after game two as East Hamilton's consistency took a big pinfall win and they went ahead by 93. In game 3, Haro again was strong trying to bring Walker Valley ahead with a 212, but East Hamilton remained steady as a team, led by Sabriah Alshekhli's 158, as they split the matches 3-3, and held on for a slim 7 pin victory, 2572-2565, and a 14-13 team win.
Girls Upset of the Week:
Columbia Central 20, #13 Tullahoma 7
Columbia came into this District 8 contest struggling through most of the year. Tullahoma has been solid and steady all year long, but Columbia's Chelsea Hinton immediately showed that wouldn't be enough with a first game 246, leading Columbia to a quick 109 pin lead. Tullahoma's Tailor Noyce fought back with a 186 in game two, but Columbia continued to pull away behind Ashlynn Moyer's 213 and Brianna Moyer's 182. Although Tullahoma remained steady throughout the match, Columbia's three kept doing damage in game 3, with A. Moyer throwing a 192, Hinton a 191 and B. Moyer a 182 as Columbia finished with a 2973-2678 advantage and a 20-7 win

Boys Match of the Week:
#2 Christian Brothers 19.5, #1 St Benedict 7.5
Crazy pinfall totals ruled the day as high-scoring Winchester Lanes hosted the top two teams in Division 2. The first game showed this would be an eventful day as St Benedict opened with a 233 from Nic Ferrante and an 1131 team total, but were blown out in game 1 as Christian Brothers' Andrew Sacharin tossed a 279 and Kyle Frasure added a 278 as Christian Brothers dropped an insane 1382 on their #1 ranked opponents. St Benedict rallied in game 2, with a 288 from Ferrante and a 247 from Nick Agnew to offset three 200+ games from CBHS and take the second game. Still behind on total, St Benedict delivered a 229 from Spencer Ridgway and a 214 from Connor Nichols, but it wasn't close to Christian Brothers who shot all six games 200+, led by Andrew Brocato's 261. In the end, it was Christian Brothers shooting an amazing 3952 total and taking the match 19.5-7.5.
Boys Upset of the Week:
Heritage 14, #12 Hardin Valley 13
Heritage was looking to keep pace with new district leader and 12th ranked Hardin Valley, and it was Hardin Valley that struggled in game 1 led by a 195 by Jeffrey Flanagan. Heritage started with a 227 from Brett Perkins and dual 193's from Austin Brown and Ryan Martinolich, giving Heritage a 84 pin lead. In game 2, Hardin Valley struck back cutting 50 pins off the lead, behind Matthew Owens' 206 and Cody Ozias' 205, with Martinolich contributing a 202 for Heritage. In the third game, Heritage's Trevor Henry delivered an important 203. Ozias shot a 204 for Hardin Valley as they took game 3, but it was not enough as Heritage held on in total pins 3077-3057 for the final three points to give them a 14-13 upset win.
Girls Match of the Week:
#18 White House Heritage 15, #20 Dickson County 12
A slow start from both teams had White House Heritage taking off to a 68 point lead in game 1 and a 5-3 advantage behind a 155 from Katherine Campbell. Kelcie Annis came back with a 157 for Dickson County in game 2, as their balanced team took another three points, but fell again in pinfall with Dru Williams shooting a 197 and Kierra Scott adding a 167 for White House Heritage, stretching the lead to 10-6. With White House Heritage struggling in game three, Annis and Tay-Tay Smith both shot 155 for Dickson County. But a big game from Campbell with a 204 and Williams adding a 169 kept White House Heritage ahead in total pins by 59, which was the difference in a tight 15-12 District 13 win.
Girls Upset of the Week:
#4 St Marys 14, #2 St Benedict 13
St Marys was taking on long time top team in Division 2 West in St Benedict, who was just coming off a tough loss to St Agnes. It seemed like many past contests after St Benedict took an early 77 pin lead after game 1 behind a 183 from Julianne Cordera. But it was St Marys cutting into the lead with a 27 pin win in game 2, with a 197 from Lauren Davis offsetting a 195 from St Benedict's Liz Holliday. In game three, St Benedict struggled to hold on with a high of 168 from Cordera, and St Marys got strong finishes from Davis (193), Anna Clay Panetta (167) and Grace Marr (164) to win the third and take total pins by 9, giving St Marys a tough 14-13 win over their rivals.

Boys Match of the Week:
#19 Mount Juliet 14, Wilson Central 13
Two old rivals threw down at the Hermitage for positioning in what is becoming a wild 5-team boys race in District 12, and they would come down to the slimmest of margins. Hunter Kinzer opened game 1 for Mount Juliet with a 223 and Jack Lee added a 200. Wilson Central countered with a 244 from Jared Violi and a 213 by Dylan Fetcho. But it was Isaiah Sanderlin of Mount Juliet with a 172-170 win over Braylen Love of Wilson Central to give Mount Juliet a crucial 2 pin first game win, 1121-1119. In game 2, Mount Juliet appeared to pull away winning 4 and team to go up 12-4 and 71 pins. Ben Giacobbi threw a 216, and Kinzer added a 204 for Mount Juliet. Wilson Central needed to nearly win out and juggled its lineup, reacting better to the lane breakdown and taking advantage. Love's 191 won a big point for Wilson as Kinzer won his third matchup for Mount Juliet. Wilson Central stormed back in game three to win total 3238-3233, but it was Mount Juliet's Lee, hanging on to a two pin win over Wilson Central's Jordan Scott to capture the 14th point and the excruciatingly narrow match win, 14-13
Girls Match of the Week:
#8 Lebanon 23.5, #7 Wilson Central 3.5
After an entire season of Lebanon and Wilson Central having nearly identical total pins each week, the final score between the two remaining undefeated District 12 teams was astonishing. Lebanon jumped up 100 pins in game one as Amber brakefield bowled a 184, and the onslaught continued in game 2 behind Brakefield's 191 and a 182 by Hattie Isham. Lebanon added a third 100+ pin game win as Wilson Central struggled most of the day. Wilson Central's best effort came from Megan Metz, who still came up short in three fantastic head-to-head matches with Lebanon's Lindsay Manning, as Manning won 218-212, 242-192, and 210-199.
Girls Upset of the Week:
Bradley Central 18, #11 Soddy Daisy 9
Bradley Central 15.5, #13 Walker Valley 11.5
Not being sure how to pick Bradley Central's best upset this week, we'll feature both, as they took out two ranked opponents in Soddy Daisy and Walker Valley. In the first match, a 192 from Kealey Collins and 178-175 from Leah White helped Bradley Central split the first two games, 8-8 with only a 7 pin difference. In the third game, with Soddy Daisy making a push behind Kylee Hughes' 217, it was Collins with a 229 and White with a 203 that led Bradley Central to a 98 pin, 18-9 victory.
In the second matchup, Bradley Central had to overcome some outstanding bowling from Walker Valley Sophomore Natily Haro, who delivered a 238 and a 669 series. In game 1, Bradley Central fell behind by 135 pins despite a 200 by Makayla Stewart. But Leah White took a point from Walker Valley's Skylar Earls, 167-166, leading an afternoon of key match wins. Bradley Central won the next two games to close the gap, but still lost team total 2795-2767. But it was four head to head wins in both games that gave Bradley the points they needed, with White bowling 214-204 for two more wins over a tough Earls, and Bradley's Kealey Collins (205), Angel Anderson and Stewart taking two more points each for a final 15.5-11.5 win.

Hardin County jumped out to an early 103 pin lead in game 1 behind Austin Harris' 226 and Ben Harmon's 224. White House had some early difficulties, but John Wright's 235 helped keep them close. Michael Frensley had a 235 and Jonah Anderson a 222 for White House, but Hardin held an 11-5 lead after two. Hardin County countered with four 200 games of their own, including Nick Howard's 231 and Harmon's tough 219-207 win over Wright, helping Hardin County barely hang on for a 3488-3454 total pin advantage and a 16-11 win
Boys Upset of the Week:
#5 (D2) McCallie 15.5, #9 (D1) Rhea County 11.5
Division 2 McCallie, who has had their struggles this year after graduating some talent from last years state team, took on previously unbeaten Rhea County. Rhea County's Joshua Williams started with a 244, but it was the combination of McCallie's Jay Moorefield (258) and Hudson Owen (223) which led McCallie to an early 5-3 lead. Rhea County came back strong in game 2 behind the Rogers brothers, Tim, with a 256 and Phillip with a 244 to counter Moorefield's 244. Rhea County took the game and jumped back ahead 8.5-7.5 and took a 28 pin lead. In the third, it was again Moorefield with a 225, Jared Gross with a 198 and Jacob Benefield with a 191 which lead a strong team performance to outdistance Rhea who had Jonathan Harmon add a 208. Moorefield's 225-201 win over Phillip Rogers proved to be the difference, putting McCallie ahead 17 pins at the end, and the three points to eke out a 15.5-11.5 victory.
Girls Match of the Week:
Savannah Fall Bash - #1 Hardin County 18, #2 White House 9
A return match of the last two state finals as Hardin County took on White House, who was bowling without their top bowler, Madeline Cain. A tense, close opening game had Kelly Onkst with a 233 and Paige Bolding with a 217 for White House, but it was the duo of Faith Welch (248) and Ashley Channell (279) that carried Hardin County to an early 31 pin lead (1168-1137). The difference in the match was in game two where Hardin County stepped on the gas and didn't look back behinds Welch's 258, Haley Napper's 222, Channell's 211 and Abigail Smith's 204 and a remarkable 1263 total. Despite this, White House won enough individual matches to only be down 10-6. In the final game, Hardin's anchors continued their dominance as Welch bowled a 219 and Channell added a 212. Onskt threw a 227 and White House's Abigil Smith tossed a 203. Hardin County finished off the win with an amazing 3592 total pins.
Girls Upset of the Week:
McMinn County 15.5, #9 Soddy Daisy 11.5
While the Soddy-McMinn boys match expected to be a tight one, the Soddy Daisy girls were not expecting to struggle as they did against McMinn girls. McMinn's Kelsi Moore bowled a 178 and Callie Thompson a 167 to outdistance Soddy's Destiny O'Dell (174) in game 1. The second game ended with McMinn County winning another close one behind Sierra Stough's 172. It was Brittany O'Dell this time for Soddy leading with a 187. In the final game, a number of close matchups, none more important than Stough's 167-165 win over Soddy's Caitlyn Gann, which was the difference as McMinn County pulled out the upset by one pin, 2286-2285

Beech was coming off their previous upset win over Lebanon to take on a young Mount Juliet squad who was also undefeated. Game 1 lived up to the billing as the teams' top bowlers tossed 7-200 games. MJ's Hunter Kinzer defeated Beech's Jay Tharp 234-220, while Beech's Alex Ezell returned the favor knocking off MJ's Ben Giacobbi 227-211. But the hero of game 1 was Beech's Thomas Chenault who finished with five strikes to beat MJ's Isaiah Sanderlin 215-208 and give Beech a 10-pin, 6-2 lead. In game 2, Mount Juliet turned it around to tie the game at 8-8 as Giacobbi shot 256 and Sanderlin 241. Substitute Jonathan Lee came in the 5th frame to also deliver a 2 pin win for a crucial point. In game 3, it was Kinzer's turn to throw a big 241 as Mount Juliet took five points to pull away for a 18-9 finish.
Girls Match of the Week:
#10 Soddy Daisy 20, #9 Walker Valley 7
An inter-district matchup of ranked teams with an experienced Soddy Daisy taking on Walker Valley with talented Sophomore Natily Haro. Haro led off with a 199 and Michaela Brown added a 179 for Walker Valley, but Soddy Daisy's deep lineup led by Katrina Stickel's 187 gave them a 27 pin win in game 1. Walker Valley tried to come back with their best game in game 3, but was shut down by Soddy Daisy with Brittany O'Dell throwing a 181 and Stickel going head to head for an exciting 222-215 victory over Haro. Stewarts Creek 18, Blackman 9
Two teams looking to challenge in District 7 met and dropped 17 200+ games as neither of these two top rivals was giving any ground to the other. Blackman Soph Ryley Perez opened with a 279 against Stewarts Creek Jr Casey Mitchell's 254 as Blackman took the first game. Both teams put up 3 games over 200 in the second game, but it was Stewarts Creek Soph Matthew Dominey's 247 that made the difference. Blackman Freshman Jacob Berry added a 247 but Stewarts Creek took total pins, 3506 to 3459, and won a tough 18-9 win.
Boys Upset of the Week:
Beech 19, Lebanon 8
Lebanon looked ready to be the favorite in District 12, but Beech with a full team won by 24 total pins over the defending Region Champions. Senior Mike LaRue's 235 led the way and with a 3-0 start, Beech will be a factor in very competitive District 12.
Girls Match of the Week:
Cherokee 21, Greeneville 6
Perennial girls power Dobyns Bennett is rebuilding, so Cherokee and Greeneville met with the opportunity to take over the lead in Region 1. Greeneville seniors Tracy Painter (524) and Maggie Shelton (500) had top scores, but weren't able to hold off a deeper team from Cherokee, led by freshman Shelbie Garrison (490) and senior Maddison Bond (486). Cherokee looks to take control of Region 1 girls with this important win.
Girls Upset of the Week:
Collierville 15.5, Arlington 11.5
Probably not a true upset, but only bowling with 5, Collierville let by Holly Siebenschuh and Kylee Andrews took enough points each games to outlast Arlington despite losing total pins.
